This troubleshooting note only applies to sites that have the OTI PayWave card reader fitted to each machine.
The OTI card reader kit comprises of 2 peices of hardware: a card reader fitted to the front of the laundry machine and network controller unit called the Telebox which is usually fitted to the back of the machine or sometimes inside the laundry machine.
STEP 1 - CHECK POWER CONNECTION
The card reader is internally connected to the white telebox unit mounted at the back of the laundry machine. The white telebox is connected to its own DC power supply adaptor which is normally plugged into a wall socket at the back of the laundry machine. Please confirm that it the power adaptor is switched on at the plug point, that the plug point has power, and that power adaptor is functioning properly and is supplying power to the white telebox unit at the back. Confirm that the LED lights on the white telebox unit are lit up.
STEP 2 - CHECK SD CARD
The Telebox unit at the back has a micro SD card fitted in it just underneath the network cable connector.
Remove the SD card gently, clean it and reinsert it into the unit.
STEP 3 - RESET THE CARD READER
To reset the card reader, it is essential to gain access to the Telebox unit as the reset keys are located on this unit. The location of the two black buttons (labelled "technician buttons") is shown in the picture. To reset the card reader, please press and hold these two buttons continuously for 8-10 seconds, which will reset the card reader and any Tangerpay devices connected to it.
If you are unable to access the Telebox unit, the alternative method to reset the card reader is to turn off the power to the Telebox unit. You will need to locate the power adaptor behind the laundry machine which is plugged into a normal GPO wall socket and it supplies power to the Telebox unit. This cable is different to the normal power cable that supplies power to the laundry machine - please make sure that you idenitify the correct power cable.
Turn off the power to this cable for a minimum period of 8 hours to completely drain the battery inside the Telebox which will cause it to reset when you power it back on again after 8 hours. Note that this step is not necessary of you can access the telebox itself and use the 2 black buttons to reset it.
